Step into a rare weekend of rhythm, culture, and community in nature.

Mundo Music’s Drum & Dance Camp is a three-day immersive cultural gathering featuring hands-on workshops in West African, Polynesian, Hawaiian, and Filipino drumming and dance traditions. Set at the beautiful Emerald Village Oasis just outside San Diego, this event brings together world-class cultural instructors and a welcoming community of beginners and experienced artists alike.

You do not need to camp to attend—you are welcome to commute—but for those who stay, the ranch transforms into a living village of rhythm, learning, and connection.

This camp is completely beginner-friendly. Our instructors are experienced in teaching new students while also offering deeper techniques for faster learners, so everyone feels both comfortable and challenged.

The Communal Meal (Saturday Evening)

This is often the heart of the entire event.

We gather in a large circle and share a family-style meal together. Many participants say this is their favorite moment of the weekend—when strangers become lifelong friends.

All other meals are self-provided.

Camping & Attendance Options

• Camping is optional, you may commute
• Bring your own tent, food, water, chair, and camping supplies
• RV camping available ($25 fee, email ahead)
• Showers available

No classes are held Friday night. Friday is for arrival, camp setup, and evening community connection.

Instruments

• Please bring your own drum if you have one
• Limited djembes available for rent
• Other instrument classes will rotate shared instruments provided by instructors
